how is seamless stainless steel tubing made ?

Seamless steel pipe is made of steel ingot or solid tube billet by perforation, and then made by hot rolling, cold rolling or cold dialing. Seamless steel tube plays an important role in China's steel pipe industry. According to incomplete statistics, there are about more than 240 seamless pipe production enterprises in China, and about more than 250 sets of seamless steel tube units, with an annual capacity of about about 4500000 tons. From the caliber, 35% of phi 76, 25% of phi 159-650. From the view of the variety, the general use pipe is 1 million 900 thousand tons, accounting for 54%; the oil pipe is 760 thousand tons, accounting for 5.7%; the hydraulic prop and the precision tube are 150 thousand tons, accounting for 4.3%; the stainless steel tube, the bearing tube and the automobile pipe are 50 thousand tons, accounting for 1.4%.

The raw material for rolling seamless tube is round tube billet, and the round tube embryo should be cut by cutting machine to grow about 1 meters of billet and sent to the furnace by the conveyor belt. The billet is heated into a furnace and the temperature is about 1200 degrees Celsius. Fuel is hydrogen or acetylene. The temperature control in the furnace is a key problem. The round tube billets need to pass through the pressure perforator after they are put out. The most common perforator is a cone roller piercer, which has high production efficiency, good product quality, large perforation and large diameter, and can wear many kinds of steel. After piercing, the round billet is successively rolled, rolled or extruded by three rolls. After extrusion, the diameter of the tube should be taken off. The sizing machine punched through the tapered bit into the steel embryo to form a steel pipe. The inner diameter of the steel pipe is determined by the length of the diameter of the drill bit. After the steel pipe is fixed, it enters the cooling tower and is cooled by water spray. After cooling, the steel tube will be straightened. After being straightened, the steel pipe is sent to the metal flaw detector (or water pressure test) through the conveyor belt for internal detection. If there are cracks inside the steel pipe, bubbles and other problems will be detected. After the quality inspection, the steel pipe should be selected by strict manual selection. After the quality inspection of the steel pipe, paint numbers, specifications, production batch numbers and so on. And the crane is hoisted into the warehouse.
